David's mysteries are shaped by the same headlines we all wake up to.

Political tension. Institutional failure. Abuse of power. The quiet compromises people make when the rules stop working.

While these stories are grounded in contemporary American life, they aren’t written to preach or persuade. David makes a deliberate effort to represent multiple viewpoints—because real life is rarely simple, and justice is never partisan.

Instead of slogans or talking points, these books focus on consequences: how decisions ripple outward, how systems break down, and how ordinary people are forced to decide what they’ll tolerate—and what they won’t.

If you’re drawn to crime fiction that feels uncomfortably real, that respects your intelligence, and that trusts readers to think for themselves, you’re in the right place.

On a more personal level, David has overcome more than his fair share of challenges, which are often reflected in his books. He is clean and sober more than thirty years, has overcome depression, cancer, two hip replacements, an intestinal resection, spinal fusion and a double hernia operation…so far. Rather than seeing himself as a victim of these challenges, he is grateful for the care and support he’s enjoyed and leans into spirituality and his creative work.

David also plays piano and sings professionally and loves to paint, which he does both for fun and commission. He adores his wife of nearly 40 years, their two sons and their Yorkie. He has an MLS degree in Library & Information Science.
